Gamercraft is a young start up that needed to break the ice

GamerCraft, a new startup offering game coaching services, presented a unique opportunity. The lack of an established brand identity allowed for creative freedom. Through collaborative discussions, two core themes emerged: clean, sleek aesthetics, and a dynamic energy

Market Analysis

To understand what features and stylistic elements a game oriented website has, we went and explored the market to find some of the leading providers to analyze.

To better analyze the current market of game coaching websites, we created a market placement chart to see how each provider competes against each other.

Market audit insights

Talking with users

To understand what gamers look for on esports coaching websites, we went and talked with our gamer friends to see what they said.

We specifically wanted to find out:
- What features they look for upon first entering a gaming site
- Does the branding and visuals affect their decisions.
Matt
Age: 19

Experience: Advanced
College sophomore Matt, a competitive gamer since 12, is considering going pro. Friends praise his skills, but the overwhelming competition makes him seek esports coaching.
Kevin
Age: 21

Experience: Medium
Rising college senior Kevin, a veteran gamer since age 8, is stuck in a rut. His Overwatch win rate has plummeted after facing opponents with pro-level skills. To up his game, he's considering hiring a coaching service.

From countless designs that were sketched out, the following 3 were chosen based on:
I took the 3 selected designs and created quick low fidelity prototypes to visualize them more accurately.

I decided to move forth with the 3rd concept into my final design.
